This book is part historical novel and part fairy tale. It takes readers into a world where apperances are paramount; where a girl's virginity is auctioned at the highest bid; where women are trained to beguile powerful men; and where love is scorned as an illusion.
This book is also a movie. Believe me, the movie which is alright, seriously sucks when compared to the book itself. You cannot possibly capture the subtlties in this book with film.
This book is a must read!
